• The all-Canada recording artist tribute to Canadian racing

    POSTED Sep 13, 2013
I'm not sure how much driving I'll be doing when I make my first-ever trip to Woodbine and Mohawk racetracks this weekend, so I have some nerves about this clocking in at nearly two hours, but I think the round trip to Mohawk from Woodbine plus various other drives and wait times will get me through this at least once.

Of course I'm excited to see world-class Thoroughbred racing at Woodbine and a similar level of Standardbred racing at Mohawk, but even if it were three cards of nothing but claimers I'd be thrilled to check off two more tracks on my never-been-to list. Assuming Delta gets me to Toronto, Woodbine and Mohawk will be tracks 57 & 58 on my list and earn the distinction as the northern-most tracks I've visited.

There are still some omissions, of course. Oaklawn Park and Fair Grounds Race Course are two I haven't been to yet, but I'm chipping away.

Anyway, this playlist takes a when-in-Rome approach by sticking strictly to Canadian-born artists.
