POSTED Dec 27, 2013 By Derek Simon
A real holiday treat, as host Derek Simon of TwinSpires.com unearths a 2009 chat he had with Andrew Beyer, the award-winning writer and creator of the Beyer Speed Figures. In a discussion relating to Quality Road’s controversial track record in the Amsterdam Stakes, Beyer describes the painstaking process that he and his team go through to come up with their speed figures.

Derek also discusses the closing of Hollywood Park in the News & Notes segment and dissects a few races in the Handicapping segment — all while high on Nyquil and Sudafed.
